4D Glossary: Ekor, Straight, Box, Roll Explained

Common 4D terms include Ekor, Straight, Big, Small, Box, i-Box and Roll, plus the names of the five prize groups on a result. This glossary explains each in a line or two, using the general 4D format: a four-digit number from 0000 to 9999 and 23 winning numbers per draw.

Number and bet terms

  • 4D: a bet on a four-digit number from 0000 to 9999.
  • Ekor: everyday Malay for 4D numbers, as in "nombor ekor".
  • Straight: your number wins only if it is drawn in the exact order you picked.
  • Big: covers all five prize groups, so it can win on any of the 23 winning numbers.
  • Small: covers only the first, second and third prizes, and pays more than Big on those three.
  • Box: a full straight bet on every arrangement of your four digits, at one stake per arrangement.
  • i-Box: covers every arrangement for one stake, with the prize shared across the arrangements.
  • Roll: one digit is replaced by R, which stands for 0 to 9, so one entry covers 10 numbers.

Prize terms

  • First prize: 1 number.
  • Second prize: 1 number.
  • Third prize: 1 number.
  • Special prizes: 10 numbers, sometimes called starter prizes.
  • Consolation prizes: 10 numbers.

Together these make the 23 winning numbers in a draw. Big versus Small is explained in full in 4D Big vs Small, and Box versus i-Box in 4D Box vs i-Box.

Using the terms at Go2win

A 4D bet usually combines a number, a way of entering it (Straight, Box, i-Box or Roll) and Big or Small. To check which of these bet types you can place at Go2win, log in at go2win.bet, then check with live chat: what live chat confirms is what applies. To start, create a Go2win account with your Malaysian mobile number (+60) and a password; Go2win is an online casino for players in Malaysia.

Choosing the digits is a separate step from choosing the bet type. If you like to pick numbers from a dream, the 4D dream number chart lists the traditional Tua Pek Kong number for each dream; it is a cultural reference and does not change your odds.

FAQ

What does ekor mean in 4D? Ekor means everyday Malay for 4D numbers, as in "nombor ekor". It is not a separate bet type. Other common terms cover how you enter a number: Straight, Box, i-Box and Roll, plus Big or Small for which prize groups you cover.

What is a straight 4D bet? A straight 4D bet wins only if your number is drawn in the exact order you picked. Box, i-Box and Roll are the ways to cover other arrangements or digits: Box stakes every arrangement, i-Box shares one stake across them, and Roll replaces one digit with 0 to 9.

What is the difference between Box and i-Box? Box costs one stake per arrangement of your four digits and pays the full straight prize; i-Box costs one stake in total and pays a shared, smaller prize. Both cover every arrangement of the digits, unlike a straight bet that needs the exact order.

How many winning numbers are in a 4D draw? A 4D draw has 23 winning numbers: the first, second and third prizes, 10 special prizes (sometimes called starter prizes) and 10 consolation prizes. Big covers all five prize groups across those 23 numbers; Small covers only the first three prizes.
