What Is 4D Roll? How the R Number Works
4D Roll is a bet where one of the four digits is replaced by R, and the R stands for every digit from 0 to 9, so a single Roll entry covers 10 different numbers. Because it is really 10 ordinary entries written as one, it costs 10 times your stake per number. This guide shows what each R position covers, how Roll differs from Box and i-Box, what happens with more than one R, and how to check a Roll bet.
How the R works
You fix three of the four digits and put R in the position you are unsure about. The R is then filled in with 0, 1, 2 and so on up to 9, giving you 10 numbers that are identical except for that one position. Each of those 10 numbers is played as a normal 4D number.
What each R position covers
The position of the R decides which 10 numbers you get:
- R in the first position (R234): 0234, 1234, 2234 and so on up to 9234.
- R in the second position (1R34): 1034, 1134, 1234 and so on up to 1934.
- R in the third position (12R4): 1204, 1214, 1224 and so on up to 1294.
- R in the fourth position (123R): 1230, 1231, 1232 and so on up to 1239.
How much a Roll costs
Each of the 10 numbers is a full entry, so a Roll costs 10 times the stake you put on each number. At a stake of 1 unit per number, one Roll costs 10 units. If Big and Small are available for Roll, the same rule applies: each of the 10 numbers carries the bet type you chose, and the result is checked number by number.
Two or more R's
Every extra R multiplies the count by 10. Two R's cover 100 numbers: RR34, for example, covers everything from 0034 to 9934, and costs 100 times the stake per number. Three R's would cover 1,000 numbers. Whether more than one R is accepted depends on the platform, so check before you enter one.
Roll vs Box vs i-Box
- Roll: keeps three digits fixed and runs one position through 0 to 9, giving 10 different numbers.
- Box: keeps the same four digits and covers every order they can appear in, up to 24 arrangements, with one stake per arrangement.
- i-Box: covers every arrangement of your four digits for a single stake, with the payout shared across them.
Box and i-Box are explained for beginners in how to play 4D online.
When a Roll makes sense
- You are sure of three digits but not the fourth. A Roll covers every possibility for the missing one.
- You want 10 closely related numbers in one entry. It saves writing out 10 separate numbers.
- Keep the cost in mind. A Roll does not make any single number more likely to be drawn; it simply buys 10 numbers at once, at 10 times the stake.
How to check a Roll bet
- Open the latest 4D results and find the result for the draw date you played.
- Look for any winning number whose three fixed digits match yours in the same positions; the R position can be any digit.
- Check the prize group against your bet type: Big counts all 23 winning numbers, Small only the top three, as explained in 4D Big vs Small.
Roll at Go2win
Go2win is a Malaysia online casino whose lottery section includes 4D. You can sign up on the Go2win registration page with your Malaysian mobile number (+60) and a password, and new members get the RM18 sign-up bonus. To confirm whether Roll is offered and how to enter it, log in at go2win.bet, then check with live chat: what live chat confirms is what applies.
Choosing the digits is a separate step from choosing the bet type. If you like to pick numbers from a dream, the 4D dream number chart lists the traditional Tua Pek Kong number for each dream; it is a cultural reference and does not change your odds.
FAQ
What does R mean in 4D? R means every digit from 0 to 9 in that position. 1R34, for example, covers 1034, 1134 and so on up to 1934. You fix the other three digits, and each of the 10 resulting numbers is played as a normal 4D number, so one Roll costs 10 times your stake per number.
How many numbers does a 4D Roll cover? One R covers 10 numbers. Two R's cover 100 numbers, and three cover 1,000, because every extra R multiplies the count by 10. RR34, for example, covers everything from 0034 to 9934. Whether more than one R is accepted depends on the platform, so check before you enter one.
How much does a 4D Roll cost? A Roll costs 10 times your stake per number, because it is 10 entries written as one. At a stake of 1 unit per number, one Roll costs 10 units, and two R's cost 100 times the stake. A Roll does not make any single number more likely to be drawn.
Is 4D Roll the same as Box? No, Roll and Box work differently. Roll runs one position through 0 to 9 to make 10 different numbers, while Box rearranges the same four digits. Box covers up to 24 arrangements with one stake per arrangement, and i-Box covers every arrangement for a single stake, with the payout shared across them.
